esball世博’s long-running 夏季打击乐讲座 is a two-week percussion intensive designed specifically for advanced high school percussionists currently enrolled in high school or secondary school. Students may also be recent high school graduates taking a gap year before attending college.

Set in the exciting cultural environment of New York’s 林肯中心, the 研讨会 offers students hands-on instruction in orchestral, 当代, 世界音乐风格. Participants experience a challenging range of master classes, 诊所, 讲座, 排练, and performances led by a faculty of today’s most prominent percussion teachers and 表演者. The 研讨会 exposes students to the many skills, 职业生涯, and passions represented by Juilliard’s faculty and graduates and prepares them for success in college auditions and beyond.

• Perform with the JSPS 打击乐器 Ensemble, including the premiere of a new work.
• Participate in“打击乐器 Intensives,” mini courses that go in-depth on specific topics.
• Take a Juilliard Ear Training course.
• Take a Juilliard Alexander Technique course
• Attend full recitals by renowned faculty artists.

• Have fun and make lifelong friends!

Please note that Juilliard's 夏季打击乐讲座 is intended for musicians who are currently in high school/secondary school. Generally, this means that participants are aged 15-18 and have completed grade 9,10, or 11. Juilliard also welcomes applicants who are recent high school/secondary school graduates taking a "gap-year" before pursuing collegiate-level education.

Juilliard’s 2024 夏天打击乐 program will take place from Monday July 8 through Saturday July 20, 2024. Participants will arrive on Sunday July 7 and depart on Saturday July 20, 2024.

The fee for tuition and room and board is $3,700.  金融援助 is available for qualified admitted applicants.

The deadline for application and audition recording is February 1.

The Juilliard 夏季打击乐讲座 is led by artistic director 塞缪尔·所罗门.

艺术总监塞缪尔·Z. 所罗门 teaches percussion at The Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Boston University; Mr. 所罗门 is 打击乐器 Director of The Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI) and serves as Artistic Director of the Juilliard 夏季打击乐讲座. From 2007-2011 he was president of the Massachusetts Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society. 他的书, 《esball世博》,” has received critical acclaim from composers, 表演者, and conductors worldwide and is available in three languages. He has also authored three books on percussion playing and curated two collections of percussion etudes and solos. 所罗门 is a founding member of the Yesaroun’ Duo and the Line C3 percussion group,; from 2005–2010 he was percussionist-in-residence at Harvard University, and from 2003–2015 he was principal timpanist of the Amici New York chamber orchestra.
